German is spoken as a native language by just over 100 million people, making it the most widely spoken native language in the European Union. Standard German, as taught in schools, is called Hochdeutsch, though there are many regional dialects.

The training courses I offer all have communication as their primary goal. German has three genders, four cases and a strict verb-second word order in main clauses. The training courses will build on your knowledge of German step by step, integrating easy-to-remember grammar rules and expanding your vocabulary at the same time.

Beginners German

Participating in basic conversational German is the goal at beginners’ level – whilst ensuring correct pronunciation and accurate grammar. Writing, listening and learning about cultural aspects of Germany are also essential.

Intermediate/Advanced  German

Current affairs, historical events and culture are increasingly integrated into conversation. The goal is to extend vocabulary and build on the structure of German in the target language.

Business German

Effective spoken communication in a business environment is the goal. A focus can be given to the language of meetings, negotiation, presentations and to written communication.

Exam German

For students who wish to improve on their grades at GCSE, AS or A level. Communication – in German – will be at the forefront of tutoring sessions, as will a focus on grammatical accuracy, vocabulary extension and exam techniques.

All programmes can take the form of group or one-to-one or two-to-one sessions, in-company or at home.
